Job Title: Waiter / Waitress

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking professional, experienced, and well-presented Waiters/Waitresses to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidates must have previous experience working in hotels, restaurants, lodges, or other hospitality establishments and be able to provide excellent customer service to guests of all ages, including elderly residents and visitors.

Candidates must communicate clearly in English, demonstrate patience and professionalism, and maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.

• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

• Serve meals, beverages, and refreshments according to hotel service standards.

• Assist elderly guests respectfully and patiently when required.

• Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, or special dietary needs.

• Ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience at all times.

• Maintain a friendly, calm, and courteous attitude during service

Dining Area Operations

• Prepare dining areas before service, including table setting and cleanliness.

• Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, dining hall, or lounge areas.

• Assist with buffet setup and replenishment where applicable.

• Ensure service stations remain clean and fully stocked throughout shifts

Communication & Customer Care

• Speak and understand English clearly to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

• Listen attentively to customer needs and instructions.

• Work professionally with kitchen staff, supervisors, and fellow waiters.

• Provide assistance to elderly guests who may require extra attention or support.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Follow food handling and hygiene standards at all times.

• Maintain personal cleanliness and professional grooming standards.

• Adhere to hotel health and safety procedures.

• Handle food and beverages safely and responsibly.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in:

  • Hotels

  • Restaurants

  • Lodges

  • Guesthouses

  • Retirement homes

  • Hospitality or catering environments

• Good spoken and understood English.

• Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.

• Friendly, patient, and respectful personality.

• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Ability to work well under pressure in busy service environments
