Sous Chef - Luxury Safari Lodge - Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger ? Urgent Vacancy Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a skilled and reliable Sous Chef for a well-regarded luxury safari lodge set alongside a beautiful dam in the southern Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, just 30 minutes from Hoedspruit, forming part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem. Known for its imaginative, ever-changing dining experiences across multiple settings, including bush breakfasts, deck lunches, boma dinners and private in-suite dining, this property takes food seriously. We need a Sous Chef who does too. Minimum Requirements: Formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or senior CDP in a luxury lodge environment Strong all-round kitchen skills across all meal services and dining formats Experience with private dining, bush dining and special event catering Solid understanding of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration Full HACCP compliance and food safety knowledge Ability to assist with menu development and seasonal specials Ability to lead and guide a small kitchen brigade in the Head Chef's absence Comfortable living and working in a remote, live-in bush environment Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: Support the Head Chef across all daily kitchen operations and meal services Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation and consistency Run the kitchen independently in the Head Chef's absence Assist with stock rotation, wastage control and daily prep standards Maintain strict hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards at all times Assist with ordering, invoicing and food costing Mentor and develop junior kitchen staff Contribute to special dining events and personalised guest experiences Package: Gross Salary: Up to R15,000 per month (DOE) Live-in: Accommodation and meals provided Start date: As soon as possible Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references, a food portfolio and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! ?
