A luxury lodge in the Greater Kruger is seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join their culinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong kitchen management experience and a background in 5-star, à la carte fine dining.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a medium-sized kitchen
- Previous 5-star hospitality experience
- Formal culinary qualification
- Grade 12
- Experience in à la carte fine dining
- Computer literate
- Strong kitchen management and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of food quality
- Ability to work effectively in a luxury lodge environment
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Maintain consistently high culinary and presentation standards
- Oversee kitchen staff and ensure smooth service
- Assist with menu preparation and execution
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitor stock levels, wastage and kitchen costs
- Support the Head Chef with staff training and kitchen operations
