Our client in the Legal Services industry is seeking to employ a Professional Assistant / Junior Associate Attorney to join their team based in Gqeberha.

Requirements:
- LLB / BCom LLB / BA LLB qualification.
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court with right of appearance and at least 1 year of post-articles experience.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet prescribed deadlines.
- Admission as a Notary will be advantageous.
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferred
- Legal Secretarial Diploma or relevant qualification
- Experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Legal Secretary / PA role
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal PA, or similar role
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and documentation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with legal software/document management systems (advantageous)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Professional, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide full secretarial and administrative support to attorneys/partners and the Managing Director
- Act as the primary gatekeeper to the Managing Director, managing access, priorities, and communications
- Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments
- Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Maintain and organise legal files (both digital and physical)
- Assist with document management systems and filing deadlines
- Draft basic legal documents and correspondence where required
- Handle client communication professionally (emails, calls, in-person)
- Liaise with courts, counsel, and other external stakeholders
- Manage billing, timesheets, and expense tracking
- Ensure confidentiality of all legal and client information
