Senior Field Guide | Luxury Safari Lodge | Greater Kruger
Live-in Position
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Field Guide for a luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger area. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable guide to lead game drives, share expertise with guests, and support a high-standard safari experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, educational, and engaging game drives, mentoring junior guides, and ensuring guests receive an exceptional safari experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead morning and afternoon game drives, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction
- Share expert knowledge on wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices
- Mentor and support junior field guides in skill development and operational standards
- Maintain vehicles, equipment, and ensure all safety protocols are followed
- Assist in planning daily safari operations and guest experiences
- Ensure high levels of guest interaction and engagement during drives
- Monitor and report on wildlife sightings, environmental changes, and lodge operations
- Collaborate with lodge management and other departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
- FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification or higher (required)
- Proven experience as a field guide within a luxury safari lodge or reserve
- Strong knowledge of wildlife, bushveld ecology, and conservation principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
- Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational environments
- Reliable, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional safari experiences
- Available to work on a 3/1 week cycle
- Immediate availability preferred, ideally from 1 April
