General Manager & Chef - Luxury Boutique Manor (Franschhoek) Location: Franschhoek, Western Cape Start date: As soon as possible About the Property Luxury boutique manor situated in the Franschhoek Winelands, offering an intimate, high-touch guest experience with a strong emphasis on personalised service, refined simplicity, and quality food and beverage. We are seeking an experienced General Manager & Chef to take full responsibility for both the operational management of the property and the culinary offering ; working to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities General Management Overall day-to-day management of the manor and its operations Deliver a consistently high standard of guest service and hospitality Manage; train and lead staff across housekeeping, service and kitchen functions Oversee reservations, guest check-ins/check-outs and special requests Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service throughout the property Handle guest feedback, reviews and service recovery professionally Manage suppliers, stock control and operational costs Ensure compliance with health & safety, labour and hospitality regulations Assist with budgeting, reporting and basic financial controls Be present and hands-on during peak periods, including evenings Chef & Food Service Oversee daily food service for in-house guests Design and execute simple, high-quality menus (breakfast, light lunches, poolside and limited evening offerings where applicable) Offer curated dining experiences or private dinners on request Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation standards Manage kitchen operations, hygiene standards and food safety compliance Control food costs, ordering and waste management Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a General Manager, Assistant Manager, Head Chef, or combined management/chef role in a luxury guesthouse, boutique hotel or similar hospitality environment Strong leadership, organisational and people-management skills Culinary background with a passion for quality, seasonal food Excellent guest-service mindset with strong attention to detail Able and willing to work evenings; weekends and public holidays Own reliable transport (essential) Must live within the surrounding Winelands / Franschhoek area Computer literate (PMS systems, email, reporting) Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous) Professional appearance and conduct at all times Please include current notice period in application What We Offer A unique opportunity to run and shape a luxury boutique manor Creative menus, guest experiences and service offering Competitive salary package, aligned with experience Performance-based incentives (where applicable)
