Senior Club General Manager | Luxury Health & Fitness Club | Botswana Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Senior Club General Manager for a luxury health and fitness club based in Botswana. This is a senior leadership opportunity suited to a commercially driven and guest-focused hospitality professional with strong operational expertise and a passion for wellness, service excellence, and high-performance team leadership. Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Location: Botswana Role Purpose: This role is accountable for the full management and commercial performance of the club, including financial performance, member acquisition and retention, brand excellence, and people leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a sustainable social wellness community while driving operational excellence and exceptional member experiences. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Management: Ensure the club operates as a profitable business, driving revenue and EBITDA growth Reduce member churn through proactive engagement and retention strategies Manage ancillary revenue streams including personal training, health professionals, and other tenants Oversee capital investment projects and ensure ROI delivery Manage operating expenses through effective P&L control Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and audit requirements Facility Management: Ensure the facility delivers a premium social wellness experience Maintain high operational standards across equipment, floors, and service areas Oversee health, safety, and operational compliance Manage maintenance and utilities efficiency and cost control Implement preventative maintenance programmes and ensure timely execution Uphold brand standards in line with internal frameworks People Management: Recruit and develop high-potential candidates aligned with business values Manage tenants and contractors in line with the club’s strategic objectives Drive staff training, development, and performance management Foster a high-performance culture aligned with company values Ensure effective internal communication across all departments Manage employee relations, compliance, and HR processes Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and code of conduct Member Experience & Service: Deliver on the member promise through exceptional service delivery Lead the group exercise and wellness experience offering Build strong relationships with members and ensure personalised engagement Resolve member queries and complaints professionally and effectively Drive exceptional member experiences aligned with brand standards Encourage a culture of personalised service and “unreasonable hospitality” Competitor & Market Analysis: Conduct regular competitor and market analysis Identify risks and opportunities within the local landscape Report insights and recommendations to senior leadership Requirements: Matric certificate essential Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Hospitality, or Retail (NQF 7) Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Club General Manager or Hospitality/General Manager within premium or luxury hospitality, country club, or retail environments Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability Proven leadership and people management experience (minimum 4 years) Strong understanding of HR processes including recruitment, performance management, and employee relations Experience in project management and operational execution Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business ownership approach Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitor environments Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Core Competencies: Emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal awareness Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Adaptability and resilience under pressure Strong attention to detail and operational awareness Cultural awareness and ability to engage diverse stakeholders Time management and organisational capability Digital fluency and systems proficiency Success Measures: Net member growth Financial performance (revenue and EBITDA targets) Controlled operating expenses within budget Facility management and compliance standards Employee engagement, culture, and performance outcomes Member experience metrics including CSAT and retention Audit and risk compliance Candidates interested in applying for this opportunity are invited to submit their CV for consideration.
