NOW HIRING: Senior Sous Chef | Luxury Property | Malelane, Mpumalanga About the Opportunity Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced, passionate and highly motivated Senior Sous Chef for a prestigious luxury property near the Kruger National Park in Malelane, Mpumalanga. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented culinary professional to join the leadership team at a world-class hospitality establishment. The successful candidate will support the Executive Chef in delivering outstanding dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, kitchen operations and team development. Key Responsibilities • Support the Executive Chef with the day-to-day management of kitchen operations • Supervise, coach and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff • Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation and portion control • Manage stock receiving, inventory control, ordering and supplier quality standards • Assist with menu planning and recipe development • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, HACCP principles, SOPs and health and safety requirements • Maintain operational records and standard operating procedures • Promote a positive and professional working environment • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding guests and operations Key Requirements • Recognised culinary qualification • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef or similar leadership role within luxury hospitality, boutique lodges, private clubs, fine dining or high-end restaurant environments • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills • Passion for fine dining and exceptional culinary standards • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment • Excellent stock control and administration skills • Sound understanding of food safety, HACCP and occupational health and safety requirements • Valid South African driver's licence (own transport advantageous) • Willingness to live and work near the Kruger National Park • Stable employment history with contactable references Package • Salary: R30,000 - R35,000 per month, depending on experience • Employer provident fund • Performance-based incentive/bonus (subject to company policy) • Meals provided whilst on duty • Annual leave in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and company policy • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities Please note that only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted.
