Job Summary
Duty Manager | Cape Winelands A Farm Shaped Over Time Set in the heart of the Cape Winelands, this working wine and produce farm brings hospitality, retail, food, wine, craft and land together in experiences that feel warm, generous and grounded. We're looking for a Duty Manager to oversee Front of House operations, keeping standards of cleanliness, service and efficiency high while making every guest feel genuinely welcome. You'll manage arrivals, departures, reservations and F&B requirements for in-house guests, and be the go-to person across our Front of House areas. This role covers the late shift (13:00 to 22:00), with duties allocated across the various Front of House areas on the farm. What You'll Do • Act as the primary point of contact for guest queries, concerns and special requests • Manage and coordinate check-ins, check-outs and guest billing • Provide leadership support and guidance to the Night Auditors during the late shift • Deliver personalised guest experiences, including VIP meet and greet and in-room check-in • Move between accommodation areas to ensure consistent service delivery • Proactively engage with guests throughout the day to address needs and gather feedback • Help organise and oversee guest activities and events • Respond promptly and professionally to on-site emergencies or guest concerns • Inspect rooms regularly and report on outstanding accommodation maintenance • Train and mentor Front of House staff, and lead daily briefings in the Guest Relations Manager's absence • Handle staff performance evaluations and identify training needs • Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all Front of House areas What You'll Bring • Experience in a 5-star or luxury hospitality setting is advantageous • Matric, with relevant hospitality certificates advantageous • A driver's licence is a plus • Experience managing hospitality teams • Stock and systems knowledge • Experience handling guest complaints and guest experience • Previous hospitality and guest experience • Comfortable with the cleaning and maintenance side of accommodation rooms and facilities Who You Are • Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills • Task-driven and able to multi-task • A genuine team player • Comfortable working weekends, holidays and evenings • Happy working across outdoor and event-based settings on the estate Why This Role Here; regeneration begins with the land and is carried forward by our people.
