A luxury nature reserve in the Western Cape is seeking a passionate and guest-focused NATURE GUIDE to join its guiding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through immersive nature-based activities, environmental interpretation, and outstanding hospitality. This role is suited to a guide who is enthusiastic about conservation, enjoys educating guests, and thrives within a high-end hospitality environment. Candidate Responsibilities: Welcome and greet guests professionally upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression Conduct lodge and property orientations, explaining facilities, activities, and guest experiences available on the reserve Escort guests to their suites or cottages and provide detailed room orientations Plan and coordinate guest activities, including arranging external excursions where required Manage activity bookings and ensure accurate communication between departments regarding guest schedules and changes Act as a key link between guests and lodge departments to ensure seamless guest experiences Conduct guided activities while sharing knowledge on local flora, fauna, ecology, conservation, and the surrounding environment Educate guests on conservation principles and the importance of preserving the natural environment Host guests and travel agents professionally throughout their stay Prioritise guest safety during all activities and excursions Maintain respect for nature, wildlife, equipment, vehicles, uniforms, and colleagues at all times Work collaboratively with all lodge departments and assist where operational support is required Continuously develop guiding knowledge and skills through training, presentations, birding, FGASA development, and environmental education opportunities Uphold the company culture and values through professionalism, respect, care, integrity, and inspiration Core Criteria: Minimum FGASA Level 1 or equivalent Passion for nature, conservation, and environmental education Strong guest interaction and hosting abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional presentation and positive attitude Ability to work well within a team environment across multiple departments Strong organisational and planning skills Ability to work flexible hours depending on operational requirements and guest activities Commitment to safety, service excellence, and delivering memorable guest experiences Willingness to continuously learn and grow within the guiding industry Previous guiding experience within a lodge, reserve, or hospitality environment preferred Package: Negotiable salary package depending on qualifications and experience Provident Fund contribution Partial medical aid contribution Uniform provided (certain items may require staff contribution)
