Job Summary
A luxury lodge is seeking an experienced and dynamic MANAGEMENT COUPLE to oversee operations and deliver exceptional 5-star guest experiences. Situated within the De Hoop Nature Reserve, this is a hands-on role suited to a couple who thrive in a boutique environment and are confident managing multiple departments while leading a small team. The successful couple will be energetic, guest-focused, and capable of working independently, bringing creativity, initiative, and strong operational expertise to the role. Joint Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day management of the lodge, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences Lead; manage, and motivate a small team, ensuring high standards of service delivery Host and engage with guests, maintaining a warm, professional, and personalized experience Manage lodge administration, stock control, and general operational requirements Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards Work independently and proactively, taking initiative in all aspects of lodge operations Role 1: Guiding & Maintenance Conduct guided marine and nature-based activities, ensuring a safe and informative guest experience Maintain all guiding qualifications and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Oversee general maintenance of the lodge and assist with vehicle upkeep Support operational requirements across departments when needed Role 2: Hospitality & Administration Manage front-of-house operations, guest relations, and overall hosting standards Oversee reservations support, administration, and reporting Handle HR-related duties and staff coordination Ensure smooth day-to-day lodge administration and operational flow Core Criteria: Minimum of 5 years’ experience within 5-star hospitality environments Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to think creatively and act decisively in a fast-paced environment Confident; outgoing personalities with excellent guest interaction skills Ability to work independently without supervision Own transport and valid driver’s licences (essential) Role 1: Guiding & Maintenance FGASA Level 1 Marine (or Level 1 with Marine to be completed within 6 months) All guiding qualifications must be up to date and valid First Aid Level 1 certification Valid PDP Strong maintenance and vehicle maintenance skills Basic HR knowledge Fluent in English (spoken and written) Role 2: Hospitality & Administration Strong hosting and guest relations experience Solid all-rounder knowledge across lodge departments (advantageous) PAN knowledge (essential) Computer literacy (MS Office) Strong administrative and organizational skills Basic HR knowledge Fluent in English (spoken and written) Valid driver’s licence (advantageous) Package: Live-in position Accommodation provided Food allowance (company-funded) Work cycle: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off 21 days annual leave Uniform provided Provident fund (after 3 months) 13th cheque (dependent on company performance) Please note: No children permitted
