Job Summary
Role Overview: We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance operations within a hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that facilities, guest areas, and back-of-house operations are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring a safe, functional, and exceptional guest experience. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance operations across the property Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff and external contractors Perform hands-on maintenance tasks when required (electrical, plumbing, general repairs) Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are implemented and adhered to Oversee repairs and maintenance of equipment, HVAC systems, water systems, and infrastructure Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Maintain backup systems such as generators, solar systems, and water supply systems Manage maintenance budgets, stock control, and procurement of materials Keep accurate maintenance records and reports Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies Work closely with housekeeping, front-of-house, and operations teams Work Environment: Hospitality setting (hotel, lodge, or game reserve) May involve outdoor and indoor work Potential live-in role (especially for lodges/game reserves) Requires flexibility, including weekends, public holidays, and standby duties ? Job Specification Minimum Requirements: Trade qualification (Electrician, Plumber, or similar technical field preferred) Minimum 4–6 years’ maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Previous experience in the hospitality sector (highly advantageous) Valid driver’s license Knowledge & Skills: Strong technical knowledge across multiple disciplines (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC) Experience with preventative maintenance systems Knowledge of generators, solar systems, and water systems (especially for lodges/reserves) Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Good administrative and reporting skills Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance Personal Attributes: Hands-on and proactive approach Strong leadership and people management skills High attention to detail and quality standards Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks Reliable; organized, and responsible Strong communication skills Guest-focused mindset Additional Requirements: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Ability to live on-site (if required) Physically fit and capable of hands-on work Interest in hospitality and service excellence
