New Vacancy: Kitchen Manager Location: Broadacres, Fourways, Johannesburg Our prestigious hospitality client is looking for an exceptional Kitchen Manager to lead a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant kitchen. This is a leadership role requiring a confident, resilient individual who can successfully manage a large brigade, maintain exceptional standards, and thrive in a demanding environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the daily operations of a busy, high-volume kitchen. Oversee; motivate, and develop a team of 50+ kitchen staff . Manage multiple personalities, resolve conflict professionally, and build a positive, high-performing team culture. Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality and consistency standards. Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance. Manage stock control, ordering, food costing, wastage, and GP targets. Conduct regular stock takes and supplier management. Ensure recipes, portion control, and plating standards are consistently followed. Prepare staff rosters and ensure optimal staffing levels. Work closely with Front of House management to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Drive operational efficiency while maintaining excellent service during peak trading periods. Train; coach, and mentor kitchen staff to achieve continuous improvement. Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in a Kitchen Manager or Senior Kitchen Leadership role within a busy restaurant environment. Proven experience managing large kitchen teams of 50+ employees . Must be able to perform under extreme pressure while maintaining composure, professionalism, and high operational standards. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse personalities and build accountability within the team. Excellent knowledge of stock control, food costing, kitchen administration, and labour management. Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP principles. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Stable employment history with contactable references. Own reliable transport is advantageous.
