Job Title: Junior Hotel Bookkeeper Department: Finance / Accounting Reports To: Financial Controller / Senior Accountant Position Type: Full-time on site Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Hotel Bookkeeper to join our finance team. You will handle daily financial transactions, reconcile property management records, process invoices, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping across all departments, including the front office and food & beverage outlets. Key Responsibilities Daily Ledger Posting: Record daily room revenues, food and beverage sales, and retail transactions into the accounting system. Audit & Reconciliation: Match daily credit card receipts, cash drops, and PMS (Property Management System) reports against bank statements. Accounts Payable: Review vendor invoices for accuracy, route them for approval, and schedule timely payments. Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing variances with front desk agents and department managers. Document Management: Maintain organized digital and physical files for invoices, tax receipts, and financial statements. Month-End Support: Assist the Senior Accountant with inventory counts, petty cash auditing, and bank reconciliations. Skills and Qualifications Education: Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. Experience: 0–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; hospitality experience is highly valued. Software Competency: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) or hotel software (e.g., Opera).Core Skills: Strong numerical aptitude, strict attention to data entry accuracy, and excellent time management. Communication: Clear communication skills to collaborate effectively with non-finance hotel staff.
