Role Overview: An excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-driven Inventory Controller to oversee multi-department stock management at a luxury lodge operating across Sabi Sands and Thabazimbi. This role requires strong control discipline, analytical ability, and full accountability for inventory integrity, audit readiness, and operational stock accuracy. ? Key Responsibilities: ? Inventory Governance & Daily Controls • Oversee daily stock movements across all departments (Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Spa, Retail, Stationery, Operational Equipment, etc.) • Ensure strict SOP compliance across all inventory processes • Verify all Inventory Administrator inputs (POs, GRNs, transfers, wastage, issues, credits) • Correct discrepancies before daily cut-off • Maintain accurate item categorisation aligned with property standards ? Sales vs Consumption Reconciliation • Reconcile POS sales vs stock depletion (Bar, Retail, Spa, Gallery) • Validate recipe-linked consumption accuracy • Investigate discrepancies same-day and enforce reconciliation before replenishment ? Purchasing, Transfers & Controls • Validate purchase requests against budgets and PAR levels • Check item codes, pricing, suppliers, and UOM accuracy • Approve/verify transfers, issues, wastage, and credit documentation • Flag irregular purchasing or stock movement patterns ? Receiving & Storeroom Management • Oversee GRN accuracy and receiving procedures • Ensure FIFO rotation, expiry control, and secure storage compliance • Conduct weekly storeroom audits and safety checks • Maintain chemical segregation and storeroom integrity ? Stock Counts & Variance Management • Lead mid-month and month-end stock counts (including blind counts) • Investigate variances using POS, GRNs, and usage data • Maintain full audit trail of all discrepancies and corrections ? Month-End Reporting • Compile full inventory reporting packs (balances, purchases, wastage, transfers, sales vs consumption, variances) • Collaborate with all HODs during month-end close • Ensure accurate stock reconciliation across all departments ? Systems, Master Data & Compliance • Maintain master data integrity in inventory systems (MyStock / MyInventory / Sage Inventory) • Ensure pricing aligns with margin policies • Enforce segregation of duties and audit controls • Support internal and external audits with complete documentation ? Minimum Requirements: • 2–4 years’ experience in hospitality inventory / stock control • Strong analytical and numerical ability • Experience with MyStock / MyInventory / POS systems (TallOrder or similar) • Understanding of multi-department lodge operations (F&B, Spa, Housekeeping, Retail) • Ability to supervise storeman/admin functions • High attention to detail and disciplined approach • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills • Stable employment history with contactable references ?
