Job Summary
A property portfolio company seeks a private household manager meeting the following specifications. Specifications:- Matric & Tertiary qualification Lanseria Residence + Two Sandton Properties • Run the day-to-day operation of the Lanseria home to a consistently high, five-star-influenced standard. • From the outset, oversee staffing and standards across the two Sandton properties as well — coordinating housekeeping and domestic staff across all three initial sites. • Deliver butler-style service for the family and guests: table and beverage service, hosting support for private dinners and events. • Supervise housekeeping and domestic staff across the Lanseria and Sandton properties — rosters, standards, training and inspections — and maintain back-of-house systems. • Support and progressively take on kitchen coordination: menu planning, sourcing and food/beverage standards; cook to a good standard when required. • Maintain household inventories, manage day-to-day suppliers, and keep accurate petty-cash and expense records. • Uphold absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times. Extend to Portfolio Oversight • Begin coordinating staffing and maintenance for four of RSA properties, under the Principal's guidance: contractor liaison, quotes, and oversight of works. • Conduct site visits and condition inspections; produce simple written reports and budgets. • Support recruitment, induction and supervision of domestic and grounds staff across sites, learning sound labour-law practice. • Take on cross-border coordination for the SADC properties as confidence and knowledge develop. Experience & Qualifications • Minimum ~3 years' experience in a premium / luxury hospitality environment (5-star hotel, boutique lodge, fine-dining or private household). • Some exposure to discerning, high-net-worth guests and the standards they expect. • Valid driver's licence • Relevant hospitality qualification or training an advantage, but attitude and aptitude weigh equally. Attributes • High potential and a genuine appetite to learn and grow — this is the primary quality sought. • Multilingual: fluent English essential; Zulu and further languages welcome. • Multi-skilled and adaptable; able to juggle service, supervision and administrative tasks. • Well-presented, articulate and quick to absorb refined service etiquette. • Organised, proactive, reliable and detail-oriented. • Trustworthy and discreet, with sound judgement and a clean criminal and credit record. • Contactable references; coachable temperament and a strong work ethic.
