Job Summary
The Drostdy Hotel, a distinguished 5-star luxury boutique property in Graaff-Reinet, proudly managed by Valor Hospitality Partners, is seeking an experienced Hotel Manager to support the General Manager in leading the full operational performance of this iconic heritage hotel. This role is suited to a proven hotel operator with solid experience in end-to-end hotel management, boutique luxury standards, financial oversight, and hands-on operational leadership within 4*–5* environments. Critical Experience & Background Requirements (Applicants must clearly meet these criteria) Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a senior hotel management role such as Hotel Manager, Deputy Hotel Manager or Operations Manager within 4 or 5-star boutique or luxury hotels Demonstrated experience managing full hotel operations, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Guest Services Proven track record in maintaining luxury service standards, SOP compliance, and operational consistency Strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and departmental financial performance Experience working closely with General Managers, ownership groups, and corporate management companies Hands-on experience with PMS and POS systems such as Opera, Micros or similar Role Overview The Hotel Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring operational excellence, guest satisfaction, financial control, and compliance across all departments. The role requires a visible, operationally strong leader capable of stepping into the General Manager role when required. Key Responsibilities Hotel Operations & Leadership Oversee daily hotel operations across all departments Support and manage Heads of Department against operational and financial targets Ensure consistent implementation of SOPs and luxury brand standards Identify operational risks and implement preventative solutions Act as Acting General Manager in the GM’s absence Guest Experience & Service Standards Maintain high-touch, personalised guest service standards Manage VIP arrivals, guest feedback and service recovery Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and implement improvements Financial & Commercial Performance Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting Monitor departmental cost control and revenue performance Support room yield, upselling and ancillary revenue initiatives People & Compliance Management Lead performance management, staff development and succession planning Ensure compliance with labour legislation, OHSA, HACCP and licensing Maintain audit readiness, safety files and statutory compliance Facilities & Asset Management Oversee preventative maintenance programmes Ensure all guest-facing areas meet 5-star presentation standards Support refurbishments, upgrades and capital projects Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management Solid operational and financial acumen within luxury hospitality environments What We Offer Competitive salary package including company contribution to provident fund and accommodation Opportunity to work under Valor Hospitality Partners, a globally recognised hospitality management company A rare leadership opportunity within a prestigious heritage luxury property If you do not receive a response within two weeks of the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
