Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in the Northern Cape for an experienced and talented Head Chef. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional to lead the kitchen operations, deliver exceptional dining experiences, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation in a luxury bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and create menus in line with the lodge’s standards and guest expectations
• Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and health standards at all times
• Manage kitchen staff, including mentoring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Supervise stock control, ordering, and minimise wastage
• Ensure special dietary requirements are accommodated professionally
• Collaborate with lodge management to develop new culinary concepts and guest experiences
• Monitor kitchen budgets and cost controls
• Maintain an organised, efficient, and professional kitchen environment
• Step in to prepare meals as required, supporting service during high-demand periods
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Head Chef in a luxury lodge, safari camp, or high-end hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards, and kitchen management
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and time management skills
• Creative flair with attention to detail in presentation
• Ability to work under pressure in a remote environment
• Flexibility to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays
