Head Chef | Luxury Private Game Reserve | Paterson, Eastern Cape Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join an exclusive luxury private game reserve in Paterson, Eastern Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented culinary professional who has a strong background in luxury hospitality and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. The successful candidate will lead the kitchen team, maintain high culinary standards and ensure that all meals are prepared to an exceptional standard. ? Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the kitchen team, ensuring a professional and disciplined working environment. Plan; prepare and oversee high-quality meals in line with luxury hospitality standards. Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, taste and hygiene. Develop and execute creative and varied menus suited to the lodge's guest profile. Cater confidently for a wide range of special dietary requirements, allergies and guest preferences. Ensure excellent food preparation and service across all meal periods. Monitor kitchen stock levels, food costs, wastage and portion control. Assist with menu planning, ordering and stock management. Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety. Train; mentor and develop junior members of the kitchen team. Provide supportive leadership while maintaining discipline and accountability. Work closely with lodge management and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless guest experiences. Maintain accurate kitchen administration and relevant records. Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and professionally at all times. ? Requirements The successful candidate must have: Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hospitality environment. Strong culinary skills and an excellent understanding of fine dining and luxury guest expectations. Excellent understanding of special dietary needs, allergies and dietary restrictions. Strong menu planning and food-costing abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A supportive leadership style while still being able to maintain discipline and high standards. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Computer literacy, with the ability to work confidently on Microsoft Office Suite. A highly developed sense of taste and smell. The physical fitness required to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment. A valid driver's licence. The ability to work effectively within a remote game reserve environment. Working Environment This is a live-in position within a remote luxury private game reserve and follows a 21 days on / 7 days off work cycle.
