Job Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic management couple to join a prestigious 5-star self-catering lodge situated within a private game reserve. We are seeking a passionate and experienced couple who possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to exceptional guest service, and the ability to oversee all aspects of lodge operations while delivering an unforgettable guest experience. Key Responsibilities 1. Guest Services Coordinate reservations, guest check-ins, and check-outs efficiently. Deliver exceptional guest service throughout each guest's stay. Ensure a warm, welcoming environment and promptly resolve guest queries and concerns. Arrange special guest experiences, including bush dinners, celebrations, and holiday events. Host guests and ensure memorable safari experiences. Lodge Operations Maintain the highest standards throughout the lodge. Manage stock, consumables, equipment, and lodge assets. Conduct regular site inspections. Meet; greet, and host travel agents and stakeholders. Ensure all operational areas run efficiently and professionally. Staff Management Supervise and lead lodge staff. Prepare staff rosters and allocate daily duties. Monitor employee performance and maintain high service standards. Manage leave applications, gate passes, and staff administration. Lead by example while promoting professionalism and teamwork. Administration & Financial Management Oversee all lodge administration. Ensure financial records and transactions are accurate and up to date. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Monitor operational expenses and stock levels. 2. Guiding & Guest Activities Conduct daily game drives and guided bush walks. Ensure guests enjoy safe, educational, and memorable wildlife experiences. Maintain all guiding equipment and vehicles. Maintenance & Grounds Oversee gardens and the general upkeep of the property. Perform basic vehicle maintenance. Coordinate and carry out routine lodge maintenance. Ensure the property remains in excellent condition at all times. Minimum Qualifications Hospitality Management Diploma or equivalent (preferred). FGASA Level 2 (NQF 4) qualification or higher. Full Trails Guide qualification. ARH Competency. Valid First Aid Certificate. Rifle Accreditation. VPDA qualification. Professional NDT registration (advantageous). Experience & Skills The successful management couple should possess: Minimum of five years' experience managing a 4-star or 5-star lodge. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Comprehensive lodge management experience, including: Guest Relations Front Office Operations Housekeeping Food & Beverage Human Resources Administration Finance Maintenance Guiding Operations Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience working with NightsBridge and online booking platforms. Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and cost control. Stock control and asset management experience. Marketing and social media experience will be advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Willingness to work flexible hours when operationally required. Experience with garden and property maintenance. Off-road 4x4 driving experience. Astronomy knowledge will be advantageous.
