This role is ideal for a professional couple with extensive hospitality management experience who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and overseeing all aspects of lodge operations. Role Overview The General Manager Couple will jointly oversee the full operations of the game reserve, ensuring exceptional service standards, smooth operational management, and the development and leadership of all lodge teams. The role combines strategic planning, financial management, guest relations, and operational excellence in a remote and exclusive lodge environment. Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations across all departments including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services • Ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost control across departments • Monitor occupancy, reservations, and revenue to achieve business targets • Recruit, train, and mentor lodge staff, fostering a positive and high-performance culture • Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards across the property • Act as the primary liaison with suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders • Lead and coordinate all emergency and operational issues • Support marketing initiatives and maintain high standards across digital platforms and guest communications Requirements • Proven experience in a senior management role within luxury lodges or game reserves • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills • Experience managing remote or multi-department operations • Financial management and reporting experience • Ability to maintain high standards in guest service, operations, and staff development • Flexible, solution-focused, and capable of handling emergencies or unexpected operational challenges • Experience living and working in remote locations advantageous Personal Attributes • Professional and guest-focused approach • Strong interpersonal and leadership presence • High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability • Adaptable, organised, and resilient • Passion for wildlife, conservation, and hospitality excellence Live-In Benefits • Furnished accommodation • Gas, water, and electricity • Housekeeping services provided • Use of a vehicle for company purposes • Uniform sets • DSTV • Access to Wi-Fi (depending on availability) • Flights with Wilderness Air to and from Windhoek (depending on availability) • Free medical evacuation in the event of injury • Free medical insurance – Accident Protector through Prosperity • Subsidised bed night rates at select lodges for managers • Pension and medical aid optional for expats; pension compulsory for locals Suitable candidates who meet the requirements are invited to submit their CV to apply for the role.
