Nestled within the scenic UNESCO-recognised Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, this exclusive luxury boutique lodge is preparing for its highly anticipated reopening in 2026. The property is currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment, including the construction of new guest suites and the complete rebuild of the main lodge. The redesigned facilities will feature a modern, thoughtfully curated layout, including a new kitchen, bar, dining area, and elegant guest spaces, all designed to support an elevated lodge experience blending refined hospitality, warm personalised service, and authentic safari moments. The lodge will accommodate up to twenty international guests, offering exclusive seven-night fixed-stay safari experiences arranged through its established European ownership and agency network. This structured model allows for a well-paced and predictable operational environment, enabling staff to deliver consistently high standards of personalised service. This is a junior all-rounder role designed for someone who is eager to learn, gain experience, and become involved across multiple lodge departments. The ideal candidate is adaptable, positive, hardworking, and willing to assist wherever operational support is needed. Daily responsibilities may include assisting with housekeeping, meal service, guest hosting, welcoming guests, room preparations, basic bar support, laundry assistance, gardening support, basic maintenance assistance, and general operational support throughout the lodge. This role is suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well within a team, and takes pride in helping create a seamless guest experience. The position may suit a candidate who already has some practical hospitality experience across multiple departments, or a motivated individual who has recently completed a hotel, tourism, or hospitality qualification and is looking to gain hands-on lodge experience within a luxury safari environment. This role requires flexibility, maturity, and a team-first attitude. During busy periods, operational pressure, or staff shortages, the General Lodge Assistant may assist across any department where support is needed to protect the guest experience. Support meal service, table clearing, resetting, and simple hosting tasks. Maintain a professional and guest-focused presence throughout the guest stay. Support housekeeping teams in maintaining beautifully presented guest rooms and public areas. Help maintain lodge cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the property. Support the bar team with basic drinks, coffees, stock movement, and cleanliness. Help prepare dining and lounge areas for service. Support scullery or kitchen teams during busy operational periods when required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in operational areas. Support with simple maintenance assistance under supervision when required. Help keep pathways, outdoor work areas, guest-facing spaces, and staff areas neat and presentable. The lodge is located within approximately 30km of Vaalwater, reached via a mostly rugged gravel road - successful candidates must be able to arrange their own transport for days off and personal errands. This is a remote, on‑site living position; candidates must be comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment. Due to the nature of the accommodation and operational requirements: family, children and pets cannot be accommodated. Must have access to Zoom / Microsoft Teams for initial interviews.
