Groups and Conferencing Sales Manager – Luxury Hotel, Sandton About the Role We’re looking for a highly driven Groups & Conferencing Sales Manager to lead and grow meetings, events and group accommodation revenue in Sandton — the heart of corporate South Africa. This is not an admin role. Based in Sandton, this pivotal role will source and convert sales for both properties, one in Sandton and the other in Cape Town. You will actively hunt, secure and grow business across corporate, government, PCO, production and agency markets while working closely with operations to deliver seamless experiences. You own the revenue. From enquiry to contract to repeat business. Requirements 4–6 years hotel G&C or proactive sales experience Proven record in conferencing or events sales Strong understanding of Sandton corporate and agency market Negotiation and closing skills Ability to manage multiple moving parts under pressure Valid driver’s license and willingness to be client-facing daily Personality Fit We’re looking for someone who is: Commercially sharp and target driven Energetic and confident with clients Highly organised Solutions-focused Persistent in follow-ups Passionate about hospitality and experiences Key Responsibilities Prospect and secure new conferencing and group clients Build long-term relationships with corporates, PCOs and agencies Convert enquiries into confirmed events and accommodation blocks Conduct site inspections, client presentations and negotiations Package and upsell venues, menus and value-adds Prepare and manage contracts and SLAs Drive occupancy through strategic group placement Work closely with Revenue, Reservations and Banqueting teams Represent the hotel at trade shows, client events and networking functions Maintain accurate sales pipeline, reporting and forecasting Revenue Accountability You will be measured on: Confirmed conferencing revenue Group room night production Conversion ratio New business acquisition Repeat client retention Requirements: Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar hotel sales role, preferably within the corporate/MICE segment. Strong existing client database and network within South Africa’s corporate sector. In-depth knowledge of the Sandton and Cape Town CBD markets, including key events, conferences, and business drivers. Proven ability to close deals and achieve or exceed revenue targets. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Self-motivated; strategic, and able to work independently while collaborating across teams.
