Financial Controller - High-End Hospitality Group - Cape Town An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic hospitality and entertainment destination based at the V&A Waterfront. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong financial operations, reporting, reconciliation, and systems experience who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Salary: R50,000 CTC per month + Benefits Job Description Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Processing Oversee all daily, weekly, and monthly financial processing and reconciliations. Manage the full month-end close process and ensure accuracy across all cost centres. Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheets. Prepare and review weekly payment schedules and settlement reconciliations. Support treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity control. Implement and maintain robust financial controls, procedures, and audit trails. Reporting & Analysis Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, KPIs, and financial performance insights. Monitor performance against budgets, forecasts, and business objectives. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Analyse revenue streams, costs, and profitability, identifying opportunities for improvement. Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. Compliance & Audit Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and external advisors. Manage VAT submissions, statutory compliance, and reporting requirements. Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial governance standards. Systems & Process Improvement Manage financial systems, POS integrations, inventory platforms, and reporting tools. Work closely with operational departments to improve efficiencies and automate processes. Ensure financial systems are maintained accurately and effectively. Leadership & Collaboration Work closely with senior management to align financial reporting and operational objectives. Mentor and support finance and accounts personnel. Collaborate with department heads to improve financial visibility and accountability across the business. Minimum Requirements 4–7 years' experience within Financial Operations, Management Accounting, or Hospitality Finance. Proven experience with reconciliations, financial processing, month-end reporting, and financial controls. Strong experience with Xero or similar accounting systems. Experience with POS and inventory management platforms. Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills. Strong understanding of management accounting principles. Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills. High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure. Advantageous Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, SAIPA, CIMA, or equivalent). Hospitality; food and beverage, retail, or multi-site operational finance experience. Exposure to group reporting structures and multi-entity environments.
