Property Manager – Luxury Villa (Wilderness South Africa) Location: Wilderness; Garden Route, South Africa. Type: Full Time / part – time (on-site) Start Date: February 2025 About the Property A luxury private villa in the heart of Wilderness with a spectacular ocean view, offering guests a tranquil coastal retreat surrounded by nature. We are seeking a reliable, hands on, and hospitable Property Manager to ensure that every guest’s experience is seamless, memorable, and nothing short of five-star. We’re looking for a passionate, communicative, and proactive manager who is excited to join us on the journey of building and elevating this villa into a truly 5-star-plus destination. Your energy, commitment, input and attention to detail will play a key role in shaping unforgettable guest experiences and the continued success of our property. Role Review: The Property Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and guest experience of the villa. This includes coordinating guest check-ins and check-outs, overseeing cleaning and maintenance, managing supplies, and ensuring the property is always in immaculate condition. You’ll act as the face of the property, providing friendly and professional service to guests while managing the behind-the-scenes operations smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Guest Relations - Greet and check in guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm and professional welcome. - Be the main point of contact for guests throughout their stay. Assisting with any requests, such as setting up the braai or loungers, or any other guest requests. - Respond promptly to any questions, issues, or requests (in person where needed and via WhatsApp or call when needed) - Conduct smooth check-outs and ensure guest satisfaction and positive reviews. Property Management - Conduct regular inspections to ensure the villa is always clean, well-stocked, and in perfect condition. - Oversee and coordinate the housekeeper and gardener to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard. - Manage minor maintenance issues or coordinate with external service providers when needed. - Monitor supplies and amenities (e.g. toiletries, coffee, cleaning products, etc.) and restock as required. - Report any damages, repairs, or unusual activity to the owner promptly. Operations & Administration: - Maintain a detailed schedule of bookings and guest arrivals/departures. - Coordinate with the property owner on any operational updates or guest feedback. - Track expenses, submit reports, and manage petty cash where applicable. - Ensure compliance with standards and local safety requirements and that indemnities are filed and kept safe. Requirements - 3 years proven experience in luxury hospitality in a management role within hotels, resorts or BNBs and similar. Excels in property management and guest relations. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Reliable, detail-oriented and proactive. - Comfortable handling minor maintenance issues and managing staff. - Must live in or near Wilderness or be able to reliably travel to the property when needed. - Valid driver’s license and own transport. - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings when guests check in/out. - Non-smoker with good hygiene. Preferred Qualities - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected issues calmly. - Friendly, professional, and guest-focused personality. - Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. - Tech-savvy (comfortable using WhatsApp, simple reporting tools) Compensation - Competitive salary, depending on experience. - Performance-based bonuses for exceptional guest reviews and smooth operations. - Possible accommodation or travel allowance (to be discussed)
