Executive Chef – Premium Dining Concept - Abuja, Nigeria | USD 4,000 – 5,000 Net Per Month + Expat Benefits A highly ambitious premium dining destination in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking an exceptional Executive Chef / Chef de Cuisine to lead its next phase of culinary development. The restaurant combines Mediterranean and Afro-Fusion cuisine with elevated cocktails, performance art, storytelling and immersive guest experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for elevating the food offering, strengthening kitchen systems, mentoring the brigade, and helping to establish the restaurant as one of Africa’s leading experiential dining destinations. The Role The Executive Chef / Chef de Cuisine will oversee a kitchen brigade of approximately 15–20 team members ; including Sous Chefs, CDPs, Commis Chefs, Pastry, Stewarding and support staff. The restaurant operates at approximately 120–150 covers ; with a strong emphasis on quality, creativity, consistency and guest experience rather than high-volume service. This role requires someone who can balance culinary creativity with strong back-of-house structure, cost control, leadership and operational discipline. Cuisine & Concept The food direction includes: Mediterranean cuisine Afro-Fusion Contemporary African cuisine Premium seafood Premium meats Open-fire cooking Tasting menus Experiential dining Modern; refined presentation The ideal candidate will bring a strong creative point of view, excellent plating skills, and the ability to develop menus that are memorable, commercially viable and aligned with a premium destination-dining experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and inspire the full kitchen brigade Develop and refine menus across the restaurant’s culinary offering Elevate food quality, presentation, consistency and guest experience Strengthen kitchen systems, SOPs and operational controls Manage food costing, stock control, wastage and supplier standards Mentor; train and develop the kitchen team Maintain excellent hygiene, safety and kitchen management standards Work closely with senior management to support the broader guest experience Contribute creatively to tasting menus, special events and immersive dining experiences Support the continued growth and positioning of the restaurant as a leading premium dining destination Candidate Requirements Minimum 8–10 years’ professional culinary experience Previous experience in fine dining, destination dining, luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, luxury lodges or acclaimed independent restaurants Strong menu development and food costing capability Exceptional plating and presentation skills Proven kitchen leadership and brigade management experience Strong mentoring, training and team-building ability Excellent operational and kitchen management skills Experience in experiential dining concepts would be highly advantageous A background in Mediterranean, Afro-Fusion, contemporary African cuisine, premium seafood, premium meats or open-fire cooking would be highly desirable Candidates currently working within the following environments will be particularly well suited: Fine-dining restaurants Luxury safari lodges Destination dining concepts Award-winning culinary establishments Mediterranean or contemporary African dining concepts Premium boutique hotels or luxury hospitality groups Remuneration & Benefits USD 4,000 – 5,000 net per month ; depending on experience, profile and demonstrated capability Furnished accommodation provided Annual return flight to home country Work permit and visa sponsorship Medical support Performance-based incentives Opportunity to participate in future hospitality projects within the group Family Status This is preferably a single-status package ; although exceptional candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
