Job Summary
This owner-run Big 5 bush lodge is set within a private reserve and offers guests a peaceful and authentic safari experience away from the crowds. The lodge is known for its warm hospitality, personalized guest service, and strong focus on conservation and responsible tourism. With a small number of rooms and a close-knit team, the environment is hands-on, supportive, and ideal for a Front of House / Field Guide who enjoys building genuine connections with guests and being part of a collaborative lodge culture. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes the bush, enjoys connecting with guests, and takes pride in delivering authentic, safe, and memorable safari experiences. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, and someone who thrives in a small, hands-on lodge environment where guest experience and conservation go hand in hand. Candidate Responsibilities Welcome and host guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable lodge experience Manage check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and daily guest administration Handle guest queries, special requests, and activity scheduling with strong attention to detail Coordinate with housekeeping, kitchen, and guiding teams to ensure smooth daily operations Conduct stock takes, monitor inventory, and support ordering and stock control Assist with invoicing, billing, and general lodge administration Maintain front of house standards and lodge presentation at all times Step in as a relief field guide to assist or lead game drives when required Ensure guest safety and deliver engaging wildlife and environmental experiences Core Criteria Front of House experience Attention to detail Good computer skills Experience with stock take and invoicing FGASA Level 1 (minimum) Valid PDP and driver’s licence Valid First Aid certificate Well presented This is a live in position. 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
