Job Summary
Qualifications and Experience:
- National Diploma in Environmental Management with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience; or
- BTech in Environmental Management with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience; or
- BSc in Environmental Management with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
- The candidate must be professionally registered with SACNASP or EAPASA.
- Experience must include EA and EMPr compliance management, monitoring and reporting to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) and the client, as well as communication and engagement with stakeholders such as the Department of Water and Sanitation.
Job Mission (KPA)
- To provide implementation oversight by ensuring all mitigation and rehabilitation measures in the Environmental Authorisation (EA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) are followed during construction of the transmission lines and substation.
- This includes monitoring and reporting on site activities and compliance, maintaining necessary records, permits, licences authorisation and conducting auditing to verify adherence to environmental requirements, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
- For the substation, the ECO will also conduct site inspections, compile close-out reports for submission to the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), and provide inputs to the substation rehabilitation plan and report.
