Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified, experienced tutor with a strong understanding of neurodiversity to support a Grade 9 learner following the IEB curriculum. The learner experiences challenges with working memory and slower processing speed, requiring patient, structured, and engaging one-on-one support.
The ideal candidate is personable, fun-loving, and passionate about education. They should be skilled at breaking down and compartmentalising information so that only the most important content is conveyed, while making learning practical, exciting, and accessible. This role requires someone sophisticated enough to understand how the neurodiverse brain works, and able to adapt teaching strategies to suit the learner’s needs.
Purpose of the role:
The essence of this role is to provide consistent, one-on-one academic support that builds confidence, strengthens comprehension, and equips the learner with practical tools for success. The tutor will help the learner catch up after school, develop note-taking and exam techniques, and foster critical appraisal skills to ensure knowledge can be effectively demonstrated in assessments.
