Restaurant General Manager | Fine Dining Restaurant | Somerset West Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and hands-on Restaurant General Manager for a well-established fine dining restaurant in Somerset West. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to lead a high-performing team, maintain world-class service standards, and oversee daily operations in a vibrant and award-winning environment. The restaurant operates seven days a week, with lunch services daily and dinner services on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It accommodates 50 guests normally, and up to 100 for private functions, offering a modern, seasonal progressive set menu complemented by a vibrant beverage selection. Minimum Requirements: • Proven experience in hospitality management or restaurant general management • Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards and modern culinary trends • Hands-on approach with excellent leadership and team management skills • Competent in HR, labour law, and basic business practices • Strong organisational, administrative, and financial management skills • Passionate about guest experience, food, and wine • Honest and reliable with verifiable references Key Responsibilities: • Manage and lead the restaurant team, ensuring motivation, discipline, and high performance • Deliver and maintain world-class service standards across all guest interactions • Be actively hands-on in daily operations, supporting service and kitchen teams as required • Oversee food and beverage quality, with strong knowledge of wine and modern cuisine • Ensure compliance with HR and labour legislation • Maintain accurate financial, administrative, and operational controls • Monitor and manage budgets, costs, and revenue streams • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and paperwork • Support the planning and execution of functions and private events • Uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability Personal Attributes: • Professional, approachable, and confident • Motivated, proactive, and solutions-driven • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards • Detail-oriented and highly organised • Present and engaged with both staff and guests Salary: R30,000 – R40,000 per month DOE (excluding incentives) This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional to lead a high-profile fine dining establishment in Somerset West.
