CLIENT ACCOUNTANT

Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment? We are looking for a detail-driven Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients and deliver accurate, high-quality accounting services.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, comfortable managing multiple deadlines, and committed to accuracy, professionalism and exceptional client service. You will also have the opportunity to review junior team members’ work and contribute to maintaining high operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Process bank reconciliations, petty cash and journals, and prepare accounting files through to Trial Balance.
· Prepare VAT reports and reconciliations.
· Assist clients with creditor payments and maintain accurate Aged Payables and Receivables.
· Handle payroll administration.
· Assist with cash flow management and budgeting.
· Prepare and file statutory returns.
· Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships.
· Prepare management accounts.
· Prepare and manage inventory reconciliations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
· 3–5 years’ experience in a financial services environment as a Client Accountant, ideally in a high-volume role.
· Solid knowledge and understanding of high-level bookkeeping and accounting.
· A Commerce or Financial degree from a reputable tertiary institution is advantageous.
· Professional Accountant designation is advantageous.
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
· Experience with Xero is advantageous.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
· Market-related cost to company, dependent on experience and education.
· Provident fund with risk benefits and a savings portion.
· Hybrid working arrangement after probation, with a minimum of six office days per month by prior arrangement with your manager.
· Study support of up to R5,000 per year and 8 days’ study leave, subject to a work-back agreement.
· 15 days’ annual leave per year, increasing to 20 days after 5 years of service.
· Approximately two weeks’ business closure over December/January, plus one additional free annual leave day during that period.
