A well-established professional is seeking a highly organised, discreet and capable Senior Personal Assistant/General Manager to provide comprehensive administrative and personal support across his office, family, household and associated business interests.
This is a diverse role suited to someone who is proactive, mature and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through from start to finish.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Managing personal diaries, appointments, reminders and important commitments
Coordinating family calendars, including school activities, extracurricular activities and important dates
Maintaining organised records of personal and family documentation
Maintaining personal accounting ledgers and daily transaction records
Recording and categorising income and transactions for accounting and tax purposes
Monitoring annual income across multiple entities and maintaining accurate financial records
Preparing journal entries and supporting information for the chartered accountants
Liaising with accountants regarding financial records, tax returns and supporting documentation
Maintaining business and practice asset registers
Coordinating household contractors and service providers and following up on repairs and maintenance
Obtaining invoices, confirming completion of work and preparing payments for approval
Managing domestic staff administration, including attendance, hours, leave and work records
Maintaining vehicle administration records and coordinating licence renewals
Assisting with personal, motor vehicle, insurance and income-protection claims
Maintaining accurate task registers, reminders and follow-up systems to ensure deadlines and important matters are not missed
General office, administrative and operational support as required
Requirements:
Previous experience in a senior PA, Executive Assistant, General Manager, Practice Manager, bookkeeping, family-office or similar administrative role
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and numerical competence
Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Experience working with financial records and/or accountants will be advantageous
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High level of confidentiality, discretion and professional judgement

A dental or medical practice background is not essential, provided the candidate has strong general management, administration and organisational experience. Candidates with previous practice management experience are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be required to work primarily from an office in Durban, with some flexibility to work remotely on certain days where the role and workload allow.
Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
