Key Responsibilities
Our client is seeking an experienced External Sales Representative to drive sales and market penetration within the Durban region. The role focuses on electric motors, gearboxes, VSDs and related industrial electrical products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Sell and promote electric motors, gearboxes, VSDs and related products.
Conduct customer visits, presentations and product consultations.
Prepare and follow up on quotations and enquiries.
Provide customers with technical product information and application guidance.
Research market segments, competitors and potential customers.
Prepare sales proposals and tender documentation.
Resolve customer queries and complaints.
Coordinate with sales, technical, logistics, accounting and marketing teams.
Maintain customer profiles and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts.
Monitor sales activities, orders, back orders and quotations.
Provide weekly and monthly sales reports.
Participate in trade shows, sales events and customer activities.
Support efforts to reduce slow-moving stock.
Maintain accurate customer and sales information on the company system.
Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 minimum.
Technical or Mechanical qualification advantageous.
Minimum 2 year’s experience in a similar industrial/electrical market.
Experience selling electric motors, gearboxes, VSDs or related electrical products advantageous.
Existing knowledge of the Durban/KZN industrial customer base advantageous.
Strong consultative selling and problem-solving ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/contact management systems.
Results-driven and able to work independently and within a team.
Valid driver's licence.
Willingness to travel extensively and work predominantly in the field. on the company system.
