Job Summary
Our Client in the Hospitality Industry is seeking to employ a General Manager to their team based in Somerset East.
Assistance with accommodation for 2-3 months.
Requirements:
- Recent (within the last 2–3 years) experience in a pub, grill, or restaurant environment.
- Hands-on kitchen experience and strong understanding of back-of-house operations.
- Experience with stock counting, inventory management, and cost controls.
- Proficiency with GAAP POS Systems (required) and Sage Accounting (required).
- Strong communication skills; English, Afrikaans or Xhosa a plus.
- Leadership capability with the ability to manage staff and maintain service standards.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Drivers License and own vehicle.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Assist in managing daily FOH and BOH operations to ensure efficiency and high service standards.
- Supervise staff, coordinate shift schedules, and support team training and development.
- Handle guest relations, resolve service issues, and uphold brand standards.
- Oversee stock control processes, including daily/weekly stock counts, variance tracking, and ordering.
- Manage cash-ups, banking, and financial reconciliations.
- Operate and maintain GAAP POS systems for sales, stock, and reporting functions.
- Use Sage Accounting for invoicing, supplier management, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and operational compliance throughout the venue.
- Performance reporting, cost control, and implementation of new procedures.
