Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a skilled Artisan – Security Systems to perform the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security systems across multiple operational sites. The successful candidate will ensure that all security infrastructure remains fully functional, reliable, and compliant with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on security systems.

• Test and verify communication between security systems and control rooms.

• Clean, inspect, and align CCTV cameras according to maintenance schedules.

• Install, maintain, and repair CCTV equipment and associated cabling.

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and repairs on electric fence systems.

• Conduct maintenance and fault-finding on motorized gates, booms, and turnstiles.

• Test, maintain, and repair access control systems and associated hardware.

• Troubleshoot security system faults and replace defective equipment as required.

• Install, configure, and test new security hardware and infrastructure.

• Configure and troubleshoot wireless network connectivity associated with security systems.

• Gather and document technical information independently.

• Ensure compliance with company procedures, standards, policies, and safety requirements.

• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.

• Demonstrate strong computer literacy and effective use of relevant software applications and tools.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.

• Trade Test in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related discipline.

• Technical certifications in one or more of the following:

  • CCTV Systems

  • Intruder Alarm Systems

  • Access Control Systems

  • Electric Fence Installation and Maintenance

Regulatory Requirements

• Valid PSIRA Registration (Grade C minimum).

• Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.

• Clear criminal record.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems.

• Proven experience working with:

  • CCTV systems

  • Access control systems

  • Intruder alarm systems

  • Electric fence systems

  • Wireless network configurations related to security infrastructure
