Job Summary
Executive Chef required for a Luxury Boutique Hotel situated in the Sandton region. This role will best suit an ambitious and dynamic Executive Chef that will take full ownership of the property’s upscale restaurant and kitchen. The role requires a hands-on culinary leader to drive the culinary identity while strictly managing operations, stock, and finances. Key Responsibilities: Culinary Leadership & Innovation: Take full ownership of the kitchen and restaurant’s culinary identity. Develop innovative, seasonal menus and specials that align with a luxury dining experience. Ensure exceptional food quality, stunning presentation, and absolute consistency on every plate. Lead; train, mentor, and inspire the kitchen brigade to perform at the highest level. Financial & Operational Management: Maintain strict food costing, stock control, and strategic purchasing procedures. Manage supplier relationships, oversee all deliveries, and ensure strict invoice verification. Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain rigorous organization. Ensure full, unwavering compliance with all health, hygiene, and food safety regulations. Work closely with hotel management to enhance the overall guest dining experience and maximize profitability. Candidate Requirements: Experience & Qualifications: Location: Must currently reside in South Africa (non-negotiable). Experience: Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef, preferably within a luxury boutique hotel or fine dining environment. Attributes: A young, ambitious, and driven mindset with a strong desire to run a kitchen as if it were their own business. Financial Acumen : Excellent, demonstrable knowledge of food costing, stock control, receiving procedures, and kitchen administration. Leadership : Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to build a positive kitchen culture. Resilience: Ability to perform exceptionally well under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
