Warehouse & Distribution Centre based in Roodepoort is looking for a Warehouse Inbound Manager. We are looking for an experienced candidate to take ownership of the inbound warehouse operations and lead the teams responsible for Receiving; Credit & Returns, Administration & Housekeeping. This is a hands-on management position suited to someone who has strong warehouse experience ; understands the importance of stock accuracy and process discipline ; and is confident managing people, performance and day-to-day operational challenges. Duties: Warehouse & Receiving Operations: Manage the daily operation of the Receiving and supporting warehouse functions. Oversee the receiving and off-loading of supplier trucks and containers. Ensure stock is received accurately, checked against supplier documentation and confirmed in good order and condition. Ensure all stock is correctly barcoded, labelled and processed before being released into the warehouse. Ensure receiving procedures and SOPs are consistently followed. Manage the movement of stock between departments, including stock transfers and production / build-up orders. Inventory & Stock Control: Drive high levels of inventory accuracy and stock control. Manage and participate in regular cycle counts and stock takes. Monitor and investigate stock variances, shortages and missed picks. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and provide feedback to management. Maintain accurate warehouse records and documentation. Credit & Returns / Administration: Manage the Credit & Returns process, ensuring returned goods are correctly identified, documented and processed. Ensure accurate filing and control of PODs, credit notes, route sheets and other warehouse documentation. Ensure outstanding documentation is followed up and resolved. Housekeeping & Warehouse Standards: Maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness, organisation and housekeeping. Ensure stock is safely stored and pick faces and bin locations are accurate and replenished. Monitor stacking, storage and warehouse safety requirements. Manage forklift drivers and ensure equipment is correctly and safely utilised and maintained. People Management: Lead; coach, train and develop the warehouse teams. Set clear KPIs, productivity targets and individual performance objectives. Monitor performance and implement improvement plans where required. Manage recruitment, training, discipline and performance management. Conduct regular team meetings and maintain strong communication across the department. Safety; Cost Control & Continuous Improvement: Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and Occupational Health & Safety requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees are appropriately trained. Manage labour utilisation and control operating costs, including overtime. Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity, accuracy and service levels. Take ownership of daily operational problems and ensure they are resolved quickly and effectively. Requirements: A relevant tertiary qualification 5+ years' experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management position. Strong practical experience in receiving, inventory control and warehouse management. Experience managing a team in a busy warehouse environment. Proven experience with stock takes, cycle counting, stock variances and inventory investigations. A strong understanding of warehouse processes, SOPs and stock movements. Experience managing warehouse productivity and performance through measurable KPIs. Good knowledge of warehouse safety and OHSA requirements. Experience with an ERP or Warehouse Management System. Strong computer, reporting and administrative skills. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
