Vacancy: Senior Manager Environmental Engineering

An established organization operating within the engineering, mining, and environmental sectors is seeking a senior leader to drive the development and execution of Occupational Hygiene and Ventilation strategies that underpin operational safety and compliance.
Duties:
Develop and implement strategic objectives for Occupational Hygiene, Ventilation, Radiation Protection, and Fire Prevention, aligned with risk-based maturity levels.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework to support hygiene and ventilation goals.
Lead the creation of policies and procedures to govern Occupational Hygiene and Ventilation practices.
Design and integrate optimized processes and systems to achieve performance and risk indicators, utilizing benchmarking and regular reporting.
Drive the adoption of best practices in Occupational Hygiene and Ventilation control, providing guidance for deployment across operational areas.
Ensure seamless integration of hygiene control systems with other operational disciplines and information systems.
Monitor and evaluate Hygiene and Ventilation performance, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
Assess future trends, environmental factors, and regulatory changes impacting Occupational Hygiene risks, adjusting strategies accordingly.
Liaise with internal teams, service providers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Manage departmental budgets, lead cost-saving initiatives, and promote financial efficiency.
Requirements:
NQF 7 (bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma) in Science/Engineering (Physical, Biological or Social),
Certificate in Mine Environmental Control,
Minimum of 10 years' experience in environmental management, risk management, or related fields,
Proven expertise in Hygiene Control, Ventilation Systems, and Process Optimization,
Strong strategic planning and budget management skills,
Excellent stakeholder engagement and regulatory liaison capabilities,
Demonstrated leadership in developing policies and driving operational excellence.
