Job Summary
Company based in Roodepoort is seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to lead a full warehouse and distribution facility relocation project from inception to completion. This will include the relocation of the admin offices, service centre, showroom and physical relocation of warehouse line items . This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the entire relocation process from identifying and securing suitable premises ; coordinating fit-outs and infrastructure ; as well as planning and executing the operational move with minimal disruption to the business. The successful candidate will work closely with executive management ; operations, logistics, IT, facilities, contractors, landlords and service providers to ensure a seamless transition into the new facility. This will be an 18 month+ fixed term contract. Duties: Manage the end-to-end warehouse relocation project lifecycle Coordinate the search, evaluation, and selection of suitable premises Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets Coordinate warehouse design, layout planning, and fit-out activities Manage contractors, suppliers, consultants, and service providers Oversee health & safety, compliance, and risk management requirements Coordinate IT, infrastructure, racking, security, and operational readiness Develop and execute detailed relocation and migration plans Ensure minimal downtime and operational disruption during the move Provide regular reporting and updates to management and stakeholders Requirements: Relevant qualification in Project Management, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field Minimum 5 years’ project management experience Proven experience managing warehouse relocations, facilities projects or large operational projects Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution operations Experience managing contractors and cross-functional stakeholders Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills Strong financial and budget management capability Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools Key Competencies: Strong leadership and coordination ability Excellent communication and stakeholder management Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines High attention to detail Strong negotiation and decision-making skills Solutions-driven and proactive approach Advantageous: Experience within logistics, warehousing or distribution environments Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) Experience with warehouse fit outs and operational transitions
