Junior Reservations Specialist | Boutique Lodge Group | Randburg

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Reservations Specialist to join a boutique lodge group based in Randburg.

This is a busy, detail-focused role that would suit a Reservationist who enjoys working in an office environment and takes genuine pride in ensuring that every booking is handled accurately and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to reservation enquiries received by telephone and email
  
• Provide accurate information on accommodation options, rates, packages and availability
  
• Assist guests and travel partners with new bookings, amendments and cancellations
  
• Capture and maintain accurate booking information on the reservations system
  
• Prepare and send booking confirmations and supporting documentation
  
• Follow up on outstanding deposits and payments
  
• Respond professionally to guest and agent queries
  
• Build strong working relationships with guests, travel agents and internal teams
  
• Identify opportunities to recommend suitable room types, packages and additional services
  
• Support sales and revenue goals through prompt and knowledgeable communication
  
• Learn the details and unique selling points of a diverse collection of properties
  
• Maintain consistently high levels of accuracy and customer service
  

Requirements

• At least 2 years' reservations experience within a boutique hotel, four- or five-star lodge, luxury hospitality group or similar environment
  
• Candidates with a strong travel consulting background will also be considered
  
• Previous experience working on a reservations system, with PANStrat experience advantageous
  
• Exceptional attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  
• Able to write clear, professional and personalised emails independently
  
• Confident dealing with guests, travel agents and colleagues
  
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  
• Good sales awareness, with the ability to understand guest needs and recommend suitable options
  
• Highly organised and able to manage several bookings and priorities simultaneously
  
• Comfortable working in a busy, office-based reservations environment
  
• Proficient in email, Microsoft Excel and general computer applications
  
• Able to absorb and retain a large amount of information about several very different properties
  
• Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification would be advantageous
