Job Summary
Our client, a renowned leader in the Web Development Space is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Software Engineer to be based in Johannesburg. MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE : To create and implement web product solutions. To work closely with the Product Owner in order refine and estimate epics and stories. They will work closely with the development team to meet release and delivery objectives. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop web applications, using a variety of programming languages, from design documents, stories, and acceptance criteria. Work within a defined set of professional coding standards and design guidelines. Be familiar with the concept of continuous integration/delivery (automated and continuous builds/test) Demonstrate a high level of software craftsmanship, commitment to quality and a conscientious approach to work. Demonstrate working knowledge of software version control using Subversion/Git (should also be familiar with the concepts of branching/merging etc.) Demonstrate a strong knowledge of software development life-cycle processes including the methodologies of Agile and Scrum (iterative releases, daily build/test, code inspections etc) Demonstrate sound understanding and working knowledge of Unit Testing and TDD Be passionate about software development and modern technology. Demonstrate a willingness to keep up to date with new development tools and techniques. Be eager to constantly promote a positive attitude to the whole company and its customers KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS : .NET BlazorASP.NET (WebAPI an advantage) Javascript SQL WebForms Familiarity with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) Ability to build well-structured complex web applications using web modern tools, patterns, and practices. Ability to write clean and re-usable code (e.g., web components) API design and implementation Source code management through git Intermediate HTML, CSS Visual Studio and/or VS Code PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server Microsoft Azure or cloud exposure Microsoft DevOps (managing CI/CD pipelines). The ability to influence and motivate stakeholders and team members to achieve objectives. The ability to adapt to change in any periods of change/disruption. Must have a pro-active, positive, open and collaborative approach to working with others in a team. Must be open to learning new skills and self-development to drive both personal and team growth. Must be comfortable in giving feedback at all levels with integrity as well as receiving it to build trust. Sound communication and writing skills. The ability to build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with both your team and key stakeholders.
