About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a meticulous, accurate, and experienced General Ledger Clerk to join their finance team.

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining core financial records, performing account reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting month-end close procedures.
What’s on Offer?
Basic Salary: R25,000.00 – R32,000.00 Basic Salary per month (Negotiable based on experience).
Medical Aid: 50% company contribution (capped at a maximum of R9,260.50).
Gap Cover: Compulsory at R199.00 per month for all employees joining the medical aid scheme.
Pension Fund: 8% company contribution (Only applicable to permanent employment following the successful completion of a 3-month probation period).
Leave Days: 15 days per annum (Subject to company policy: leave cannot be taken for more than 10 consecutive working days and may not be taken over month-end).
Working Hours & Environment
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00.
Environment: Professional, office-based corporate finance environment.
Standard Working Procedures (SWP): A standard working procedures manual must be obtained from HR for your position; it must be read, signed, and returned to HR within your first week of employment.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Posting: Accurately post daily financial transactions and routine journal entries into the accounting system.
Account Reconciliations: Perform complete monthly reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
Error Investigation: Proactively investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting errors or data mismatches.
Audit Support: Prepare and compile detailed supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
Period Closing: Assist the financial team with month-end and year-end closing tasks according to set timelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Proven, stable experience as a General Ledger Clerk within the Motor Sector is strictly essential and non-negotiable.
Bookkeeping Knowledge: Strong, practical grasp of basic bookkeeping principles and accounting workflows.
Systems Knowledge & Skills: Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets (MS Excel) and financial/accounting software.
Attributes: High attention to detail, exceptional data accuracy, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
References: Must be able to supply contactable references from previous employers for verification.
