Craft brewery, restaurant and events space based in Pretoria East is looking for an experienced Front of House & Events Coordinator. This is far more than a traditional hostess or reception role. The Front of House & Events Coordinator is at the heart of the venue’s experience through welcoming guests, building relationships, creating opportunities and helping turn interest into action . We are looking for someone who combines warmth and hospitality with organisation; energy and commercial instinct. The objective is simple: make people feel welcome ; make it easy to do business with the venue and create experiences people want to return to. Duties: Front-of-house hospitality and restaurant reservations Boardroom and corporate meeting bookings Events and function coordination Customer and community relationship building Marketing and business development support The role is expected to manage enquiries and bookings professionally from first contact through to completion, while actively identifying opportunities to generate repeat business and revenue. Guest Experience & Reservations: Welcome guests warmly and professionally and create an exceptional first impression. Manage restaurant reservations, booking enquiries, cancellations, amendments and special requests. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date booking diary. Coordinate larger or special bookings with the kitchen and service teams. Handle customer concerns professionally and take ownership of resolving issues. Boardroom & Corporate Bookings: Manage the boardroom diary and maximise its utilisation. Respond to corporate enquiries and coordinate dates, numbers and requirements. Explain and sell boardroom packages, including beverages and light snacks, breakfast, lunch and tailored catering options. Provide clear information on pricing and inclusions. Coordinate with the operational team to ensure the boardroom and catering are professionally prepared. Build relationships with local businesses to encourage repeat bookings. Events & Functions: Help establish the venue as a sought-after for private, corporate and community events, including: Special Celebrations, Conferences, Product Launches, Networking Events, Craft & Community Markets, Club & Motorcycle Events, Live Entertainment, Private Dining, Corporate Events, etc. Responding to enquiries and understanding client requirements. Presenting spaces, menus and event options. Preparing or coordinating quotations and proposals. Conducting venue viewings. Maintaining the events calendar and client records. Coordinating event requirements with the kitchen, service team and management. Assisting with layouts, catering, décor, entertainment and other logistics. Maintaining client communication before and after events. Generating repeat business and referrals. Marketing & Business Development: Promote the restaurant, boardroom, events and special offers. Build relationships with local businesses, community organisations, clubs and event organisers. Support social media content, promotions and customer engagement. Capture useful photographs, stories and event content for marketing. Build and maintain a database of corporate, community and event contacts. Identify opportunities to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings. Track enquiries, bookings and lost opportunities and provide feedback to management. Administration & Commercial Accountability: Maintain accurate restaurant, boardroom and events diaries. Ensure bookings and customer requirements are accurately communicated to the operational team. Maintain event documentation, confirmations and customer information. Assist with deposits, invoicing and payment follow-ups where required. Provide simple weekly booking and events reports. Keep management informed of upcoming events, key customer requirements and potential issues. The role should consistently ask: “How can we turn this enquiry into an opportunity?” Requirements: Experience in hospitality, events or customer-facing roles, who is equally comfortable dealing with a family booking a table, a corporate client planning a meeting or an organiser planning a major event. Experience with reservations and booking systems. Experience coordinating functions, conferences or events. Strong customer service and communication skills. Some sales, business development or commercial experience. Comfortable dealing with corporate clients and community organisations. Strong computer literacy and confidence using telephone, WhatsApp and email. A good appreciation for leveraging Social Media as a marketing platform Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities. Professional personal presentation.
