Job Summary
Our client, in the Manufacturing Industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Maintenance Manager to their team based in Port Elizabeth.
Minimum of 7 years’ maintenance experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment (preferably automotive); secures!
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years’ maintenance experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment (preferably automotive).
- Hands-on experience with CNC machinery (milling, turning, EDM) and industrial robotics (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc).
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and automation protocols.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and smart factory systems (advantageous).
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for CNC machines, industrial robots, and automated production lines.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of robotic arms, PLCs, servo motors, and CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
- Manage and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and automation engineers.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, particularly around high-voltage and robotic systems.
- Maintain and optimize CMMS to track machine performance, downtime, and maintenance history.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment commissioning and process improvements.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party service providers for specialized repairs and upgrades.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and critical tooling.
- Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and lean initiatives to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
