New Vacancy Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a talented, creative and passionate Pastry Chef for a privately owned luxury lodge and equestrian retreat set in the heart of the Garden Route near Plettenberg Bay - a one-of-a-kind property offering an exceptional, personalised guest experience in a stunning natural setting. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in their craft - from beautifully plated desserts and seasonal pastry menus to freshly baked breakfast goods and thoughtfully crafted guest amenities. Please note: Candidates must be based in Plettenberg Bay or the broader Garden Route area, or willing to relocate independently. This is a live-out position. Minimum Requirements: Relevant pastry qualification preferred Proven pastry experience in a luxury lodge, hotel or fine dining environment - essential Strong technical foundation across desserts, pastries, breads and baked goods Creative; precise and detail-oriented with excellent presentation skills Organised; reliable and able to maintain exceptional standards consistently Able to work independently and as part of a kitchen team Passion for quality and genuine pride in the craft HACCP compliance and food safety knowledge Stable work history with contactable references Pastry portfolio advantageous Key Responsibilities: Prepare high-quality desserts, pastries, cakes and baked goods to five-star standards Create beautifully presented plated desserts and seasonal pastry menus Prepare breakfast pastries, afternoon treats and personalised guest amenities Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety and cleanliness at all times Manage pastry section stock, minimise waste and ensure consistent quality Work closely with the Head Chef and broader kitchen team to deliver an outstanding guest experience Package: Gross Salary: R20,000 to R30,000 per month (DOE) Live-out position - Plettenberg Bay / Garden Route Start date: ASAP Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, a pastry portfolio, contactable references and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! ?
