Job Summary

Our client, a prominent player in the meat processing industry, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal equipment performance and uphold stringent safety standards.

Duties:

Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on meat processing machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
Service and maintain equipment such as band saws, mincers, sausage fillers, and blenders
Install, commission, and calibrate new machinery
Collaborate closely with production teams to minimise downtime and enhance equipment efficiency
Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
Support plant shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and machinery relocations

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years' maintenance experience in the food or meat processing industry
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
Experience working on meat processing equipment
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
Relevant Electrical or Mechanical qualification
Skills in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and calibration
Ability to work effectively within a team

Nice to Have:

Additional certifications in electrical or mechanical fields
Experience with PLC programming
