Sous Chef (2 Positions) Luxury Boutique Hospitality | West Coast, South Africa An exceptional opportunity exists for two experienced Sous Chefs to join a highly regarded luxury hospitality group on South Africa's West Coast, comprising two distinctive boutique properties renowned for their personalised service, exceptional cuisine, and unforgettable guest experiences. This role is suited to passionate culinary professionals who understand that luxury dining is about far more than food. It is about craftsmanship, attention to detail, consistency, and creating memorable moments for every guest. Working closely with the Executive Chef and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class dining experience across multiple dining environments while supporting, mentoring, and developing the kitchen brigade. The Role As Sous Chef, you will assist in leading the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and service are consistently achieved. You will be expected to lead from the front, maintain calm under pressure, and uphold the standards expected within a luxury hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities Support the Head and Development Chefs in the daily management of kitchen operations Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional food quality and presentation Supervise and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff Drive kitchen standards, cleanliness, and food safety compliance Assist with menu implementation, recipe adherence, and food costing Manage stock control, ordering, and wastage reduction initiatives Maintain effective communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams Assist with rostering, training, and performance management of team members Ensure all guest dietary requirements and special requests are executed flawlessly Contribute to the ongoing development of the culinary offering across both properties What We're Looking For Proven experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury boutique hotel, five-star property, luxury lodge, fine dining restaurant, or premium hospitality environment Formal culinary qualification Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practices Experience managing stock, food costs, and kitchen administration Passion for seasonal ingredients and exceptional guest experiences Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-standard environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency A hands-on, positive, and solutions-focused approach What Sets You Apart A genuine passion for hospitality and service excellence An understanding of luxury guest expectations The ability to inspire and develop others Pride in your craft and a commitment to continuous improvement Calm; professional leadership under pressure Location West Coast, South Africa To Apply Please submit the following: Detailed CV Recent professional photograph Portfolio of culinary work (if available) Contactable references Only candidates with relevant luxury hospitality experience will be considered.
