We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate, school facilitator to support a 8 year old neurodivergent boy who loves being outdoors—riding his bicycle, digging in sand, splashing in water, and has a love for story time. 

Main Purpose of the Job:
To offer personalised daily guidance and support, ensuring he receives tailored learning support that support his strengths and unique needs. A genuine passion for neurodiversity and a commitment to being a secure, long-term source of encouragement are of the utmost importance. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Build a trusting relationship with the learner
  

• Attend school to provide scaffolding and support
  

• Act as a communication bridge between teacher, learner, and parents
  

• Assist with breaking down tasks and chunking information
  

• Implement movement/sensory breaks as needed
  

• Facilitate understanding and learning in structured and unstructured settings
  

• Support executive functioning (planning, organising, problem-solving)
  

• Pre-empt and support to reduce anxiety and uncertainty
  

• Create visual resources when needed

Job-Related Experience & Knowledge

• Essential:
  

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with neurodivergent children
    

  • Experience supporting young neurodivergent children (foundation phase age group)
    

  • Background in teaching, tutoring, or special education
    

  • Familiarity with sensory-friendly strategies and low-arousal, child-led approaches
    

  • Knowledge of executive functioning supports (e.g. visual schedules, timers, social stories)
    

  • Knowledge of autism spectrum condition (ASC)
    

• Desirable:
  

  • Relevant certifications in education, special education, psychology, occupational therapy, or related fields
    

  • Previous experience in a schooling environment or facilitating role
    

  • Familiarity with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
    

Benefits

 Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 14:00 
  

Salary:

• R 12 000 – R 15 000 per month (negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
