Job Summary
Food & Beverage Manager | Five-Star Property, Guernsey, British Channel Islands, UK The hotel boasts two restaurants, a celebrated afternoon tea lounge programme and cocktail bar, and harbour views that belong on a postcard. This is an F&B operation with serious potential, and we're looking for someone ready to unlock it. The menus, the covers, the revenue — none of it happens without the right team and the right culture. That's what this role is really about. We're seeking an F&B Manager whose experience has been forged in quality four and five-star establishments where food and beverage isn't a support function, it's the heartbeat of the operation. You understand that great F&B is built by great teams, and great teams are built by leaders who genuinely invest in their people. This hotel group built its legacy on highly personalised, memorable experiences, both for guests and for the people who look after them. That ethos shapes everything. The right candidate won't need this explained; they'll recognise it immediately and live it out in how they lead. The Opportunity You'll take ownership of the full F&B operation: a brasserie showcasing local seafood and seasonal produce, an authentic Indian restaurant, afternoon tea service, and banqueting for private events and cocktail bar and club area. The infrastructure is in place. What we need is someone who can build a team culture that makes this operation sing. That starts with your people. You'll recruit for attitude and potential. You'll coach, develop, and create genuine career pathways. You'll build an environment where your team feels valued, supported, and proud of what they do — because you know that's exactly what guests feel when they walk through the door. From that foundation, everything else follows: rethinking menus to hero Guernsey's exceptional produce, building a drinks programme with real identity, creating experiences that draw locals as well as hotel guests. You'll have the freedom to shape the offering and the support to make ambitious ideas happen. But your first priority will always be the people who deliver it. What We're Looking For Proven experience in F&B management within quality 4 or 5-star, food-led hotels A genuine track record of building, developing, and retaining strong teams Someone who sees team culture as the foundation of operational success, not a nice-to-have The ability to create an environment where people want to come to work, learn, and grow A leader who coaches rather than directs, and celebrates their team's success as their own Strong financial acumen: you understand margins, labour costs, and how to protect profitability without compromising quality or burning out your people Creativity when it comes to concept development, menu engineering, and guest experience Someone who sees service as an opportunity to create genuine moments, not just transactions An instinct for anticipating what guests want before they ask High standards and attention to detail, delivered through a team that shares your pride in the product The Practicalities This role comes with an 8-year Guernsey work permit and a pathway to UK settlement via a 3-year visa route leading to Indefinite Leave to Remain. Guernsey sits in the Channel Islands, closer to France than England, with more sunshine hours than the UK mainland and a pace of life that actually allows you to enjoy them. As part of the Common Travel Area, movement between Guernsey, the UK, and Ireland requires no passport. Competitive salary plus monthly service charge. 20 days holiday rising with service. Meals on duty. Award-winning learning and development programmes. Enhanced family leave. Employee Assistance Programme. If you've spent your career building teams that deliver exceptional F&B in quality establishments, and you're ready to create something special, we'd like to hear from you.
