Stable Manager Location: Northern Cape Property Type: Luxury Private Game Reserve Salary: Negotiable DOE | Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in the Northern Cape for an experienced Stable Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled equestrian professional to manage the care, training, and welfare of horses while supporting guest riding experiences in a luxury safari environment. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the daily care, feeding, grooming, and exercise of all horses • Develop and implement training programs for horses and riders • Supervise and manage stable staff, ensuring high standards of animal care and performance • Maintain stables, paddocks, and associated facilities in excellent condition • Manage inventory of feed, equipment, and supplies, including ordering and stock control • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare standards for both horses and staff • Coordinate guest riding activities, ensuring safety and exceptional experiences • Maintain records of horse health, training progress, and maintenance schedules • Assist with breeding, veterinary care, and farrier schedules where required • Provide mentoring and training for junior stable staff Requirements • Proven experience managing stables in a lodge, game reserve, or equestrian environment • Strong equestrian skills and knowledge of horse training, care, and welfare • Leadership and staff management experience • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills • Ability to work under pressure in a remote environment • Must hold a valid driver’s licence • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays Personal Attributes • Passionate about equestrian care and guest experiences • Proactive, reliable, and hands-on • Ability to lead by example and motivate a team • Positive, professional, and adaptable attitude • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards This live-in position offers a competitive salary dependent on experience and an opportunity to work in a prestigious luxury private game reserve in the Northern Cape.
